Corbin Schools would like to announce Coach Andrew Roark as the new Athletic Director for the Corbin School District.
Coach Roark has taught and coached football at Corbin High School since 2009. He will continue to fill various roles as a Redhound including teaching Project Lead the Way courses and serving as the new Athletic Director.
“I am very honored to be able to serve as Athletic Director,” Roark said. “I am excited to be an advocate for our coaches and all sports here at Corbin.”
Roark is a 1998 graduate of South Laurel High School. He played college football at Georgetown College where he also began his coaching career as a student assistant for the 2000 Georgetown National Championship team. He went on to serve as an assistant coach for Union College for one year while earning his degree in secondary math education. From there, Roark coached at North Stokes High School in Danbury, North Carolina, Bell County High School, North Laurel High School, and Corbin High School.
Roark will replace Thom Smith who resigned as Corbin Schools Athletic Director June 30, 2016.
