The Corbin Independent School District is pleased to announce the selection of Cynthia Davis as the new Corbin Middle School Principal.
The Corbin Middle School Site Based Decision Making Council appointed Davis as the new principal at a special called site based council meeting on August 24, 2015.
Davis currently serves as the Corbin Primary School Assistant Principal. Prior to serving as the assistant principal, Davis taught seventh grade language arts, social studies, and math at Corbin Middle School.
The Corbin School District held a special reception for Davis at the Corbin Center on August 26, 2015 to welcome her as the new principal. Corbin Schools staff, community members, and Davis’s family were in attendance. Davis commented she was looking forward to returning to the middle school.
“I am excited to walk back into the middle school and pick up where I left off,” she said. “I hope to continue to learn, grow, and help Corbin Middle School to Strive to be the Best!”
Davis has 13 years of experience working in the Corbin School District. She taught for 10 years at Corbin Middle School and recently started her 3rd year as Corbin Primary Assistant Principal. She has been active in both the middle and primary schools. She served as a team leader for 8 years at Corbin Middle School, served on the dress code and handbook committees, and sponsored the CMS News Bowl team. At Corbin Primary she is the ARC chair, serves on the FRC, and worked with Union College on the P312 Network Project.
Davis holds a Rank I Curriculum Instruction – Principalship P-12 from Union College, a Master of Arts in Language Arts from Union College, and a Bachelor of Science in Middle School Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
Davis will replace Jennifer Parsons who recently accepted a position in the Harlan Independent School District.
