CMS Students Participate in Annual Scientist Project

Corbin Middle School seventh grade students participated in their annual scientist project.

As part of the project, the seventh grade students dressed as their assigned scientist and presented a presentation to the class. The project teaches students the importance of science and history.
“The students learn about scientists and how they have impacted history. It also teaches them how to do correct research and public speaking skills.” Corbin Middle School Science Teacher Corean Rougeux said.

The students are required to research their scientist, complete a biography poster, type a speech, and give the speech on why their scientist should win the lifetime achievement award in science. Students completed the project on scientist such as Ben Franklin, Jane Goodall, Neil Armstrong, and Sally Ride. Each of the 230 seventh grade students had a different scientist.

All seventh grade students are required to participate in the project which is held every year around Halloween. Corbin Middle School has been participating the scientist project for more than two decades.
