Corbin Primary School introduced their new Brag Tag program to promote positive behavior this week.
Brag Tags are small chains that attach to students backpacks. Students can earn charms to put on their chains based on aspects such as positive behavior and attendance. Corbin Primary is hoping to use the Brag Tag program to increase attendance, decrease discipline, and promote a positive school climate.
“We are very excited to roll out this new program,” Corbin Primary Principal Travis Wilder said. “Students this age love to be recognized. We hope the program will help our school to reinforce positive behavior as well as attendance.”
Every student received a chain and can earn numerous charms throughout the school year. Currently, charms will be awarded to the Students of the Month in each grade and students who reach their 9 weeks AR or Sight Word goals. Charms will also be awarded each month for 96% attendance or higher, twice per week by each teacher for positive behavior and homework/nightly reading, and once per week by each teacher for good manners.
