Officers Visit Corbin Schools

Corbin Fire and Police Department Officers visited Corbin High School to review safety procedures last week.

The officers completed an extensive walk through of the high school building as well as reviewed lock down procedures. Corbin High School JROTC teacher Mike Farley, Principal John Crawford, and Safety Resource Officer Lonnie Sawyers led the tours of the building and explained the updated procedures. Corbin High School completed a lock down drill during the officers visit. The officers offered feedback regarding the drill and were very complimentary of the high schools lock down procedures.

The visit was coordinated by new Corbin High School Safety Resource Officer Lonnie Saywers. Corbin High School practices lock down drills once a month. The police and fire departments review the safety procedures of the school at least once per year.
