CHS Senior Leads Military Support Project

Corbin High School Senior Lawson Woods headed up a project in support of his brother-in-law, who is a Marine about to be sent overseas.

Woods approached teachers at Corbin High School as well as across the district asking for letters of support for his brother-in-law, Shea Ramsden, as he departs for his third deployment.
Woods presented a presentation to his classmates and teachers requesting the letters. Overall, Woods collected approximately 200 letters from Corbin School students.

“I wanted to do something for him so he knows that people still support him and care about what he is doing for our country,” Woods said. “This is a good cause and can relate to class work.”

The letters received were sent to Woods sister who put together a binder for Ramsden to read while overseas. The area Ramsden will be stationed is a remote area without electricity. Woods said he hopes the letters of support will help Ramsden to pass the time while on deployment.
